Intro: Jane Austen at Home by Lucy Worsley

Here's a very brief video introduction to the book, by its author Lucy Worsley. I'm only 25 pages in, but as I read, I just can't help but hear the words in Lucy's British accent!

This bold proclamation in the video stuck out at me:

"Jane Austen is just basically the greatest human being who ever lived."

Wow, Lucy! I'm not sure I can agree with you there! Although, full disclosure: I never was a Jane Austen fan. However, this is what I love about our bookclub: we inevitably end up reading books we never would have picked up. It's great to be pushed out of my comfort zone! Perhaps others do not agree; I'd love to hear what you all think next month.

Speaking of which: I can't wait to hear what you all think and feel about not only this book, but its subject herself. Did you know there's an entire organization dedicated to being a Jane Austen fan? They call themselves the Janeites. Are you one of them?

Especially if you don't think you'll have the time to read the book, or finish it before our meeting, check out some of the myriad podcast episodes featuring the book and its author; simply search in your favorite podcast app and you'll find them (here's the one in the pic below; thanks Erica for the tip!).

See you next month!
